So, this is it... our last night in China. We've been so consumed by packing and spending some precious time with my parents that I haven't had a chance to stop and feel the gravity of this bittersweet moment.
It's super surreal to think that in a little more than a day, we'll be back in California, cuddling with Bryson in that sweet little pad we call home.
I'm sure China won't feel a thing missing 3 souls amongst its billions, but I'm sure we'll be going through China-withdrawal for a little while (duck neck, duck neck, where art thou?).
It's kinda hard to express exactly how I'm feeling right now (being totally exhausted from packing doesn't help either), so if I may, I'd like to be completely unoriginal and plagiarize our daughter's favoite nighttime story, Good night, Moon:
Good night, moon.
Good night, cow jumping over the moon (over the Pearl River Bridge).
Good night, light and our lovely temp apartment's room.
Good night stars,
Good night Guangzhou's muggy air,
Good night Chinese people's noises everywhere.
Good night...
P.S. Our "10 most memorable" countdown list will hopefully be continued shortly after our return to the States. Oh and more on our Thailand trip to come as well.
P.P.S. Photo above courtesy of my dad, taken just a few hours ago over the Pearl River on our one last riverside stroll.
P.P.P.S. BRYSON! We're coming HOME!!!
