Are you watching the Olympics opening ceremony?
The taped ceremony started here at 8 p.m. west coast time, which means we are probably one of the last people in the entire world to see the broadcast (I really have a problem with this saving-it-for-prime-time thing which no other country does), so now we finally know what the world's been talking about in the last 12 hours. (Booo...)
And half an hour into it, I have to say while there's an undeniable cheese-factor unique to everything Chinese, the whole thing is quite grand and spectacular. I especially like the part that looks like a high-tech futuristic version of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I just wish I can fast-forward through the real cheesy parts. :P
