Call us crazy, but tomorrow we are going to embark on an 1,800-mile "epic" road trip from Emeryville, CA to Austin, TX! Yee-haw!
And yep, Bryson's coming along :) And this will be the first time he meets his "cousins", aunt, uncle and other set of grandparents for the first time! Too exciting!!
As you can see, we would have traversed more than half our vast country by the time we get there. I swallow a hard gulp every time I look at this map. Definitely an iron-butt challenge (Bryson could probably out-sit all of us with those infamously "sturdy" corgi butts).
It'll take a back-breaking 25-hour drive if we go non-stop, but we figured we'll pass by so many new places we've never been to before, that we might as well take it leisurely and visit these places along the way.
So, the plan is to drive to Sedona tomorrow (784 miles, approx 12 hr), spend a day there on Sunday (can't wait to experience all the "energy"), then drive through all that's lovely Texas (probably stop a night in Abilene, TX), and spend 3 days in Austin with family.
Next time you hear from us here, we won't be in Kansas California anymore!
