I just saw on the news this morning that the 5.6 quake we had last night (briefly covered while I was in the middle of this post) is the strongest one since "The Big One", aka Loma Prieta in 1989 which took down the Bay Bridge and killed dozens of people.
With this kind of credentials, thought I should give it a bit more coverage here. But since it's relatively far from us (compared to the last one we felt), we didn't get as much action up here, even though it registered stronger on the scale.
Everyone's talking about the next "Big One" now. Hmm.....
