On a day when you find yourself responsible for a mistake that someone else made, the IT guy didn't call you back after 15 messages which caused you to miss a deadline, and your dog ate all the chicken fat you meticulously picked out of your teriyaki bowl and neglected to put away, there's only one thing to do...
Allow yourself 30 minutes of virtual window shopping on the internet. Trust me, it's therapeutic; well, at least for those of you who possess 2 "X" chromosomes.
These are a few of the beautiful objects I purchased (in my head) today:
Beautiful white and coral T-strap peep-toe heels, a grown-up version of a childhood favorite. From Anthropologie
Lovely silk kimono top with floral designs, devine (and hides a thick mid-section). Also from Anthropologie
A one-of-a-kind handbag that I "designed" myself at Freddy & Ma
Hand built dark oak credenza at BDDW
An Agnes and Hoss nickel and silk "roots" chandelier, from 2modern
Beautiful note pad that doubles as mouse pad (a very thin one eventually), from See Jane Work
And last but not least... A very stylish leather couch for Bryson from Postmodern pets
OK, I admit, it took longer than 30 minutes. But I am re-energized to face the challenges of a new day with not a dime spent. Now if only I can track down the IT guy so my internet doesn't keep crashing on me to enhance my virtual shopping experience (oh, I guess if it's fixed I'll be doing my project instead... never mind).
