It's finally here!
In the past few months, we have driven by this empty lot in the neighborhood and watch its quiet but steady transformation- sod being laid, cherry trees planted (with blossoms come and gone), picnic benches carefully moved in. And finally this week, all the labor has come to fruition in the birth of the long-awaited Hollis Green Park in our community!
You may be wondering what my company's name (Novartis) is doing in front of the park. No, I didn't personally pay for the park. This park actually sits on Novartis' Emeryville campus (the ex-Chiron headquarter), and this park is a collaboration between Novartis and the City of Emeryville as a project to beautify the city and provide some public green space.
As soon as we learned of its opening, we immediately took Bryson there for its inauguration. Bryson took it very seriously upon himself to examine this park for its safety features before recommending it to his pals.
Bryson examining the quality of the dirt and turf (Verdict: good, not contaminated by any #2 yet)
Checking out the safety of the boulder feature (Verdict: beautiful and well-constructed)
