OK, apart from Sacha Baron Cohen's acceptance speech for Borat, the rest of Golden Globe was, well, boring.
So, we decide to give our own award, the Other Golden Globe. And to simplify things, there's only one category: Best Comedy. And the nominees are... (drum roll please)
(1) Nail Salon by Anjelah Johnson. Thanks Van for supplying this wonderful foreign film. Anyone who has ever had a manicure/pedicure anywhere in the country can appreciate the culturally-insensitive humor here.
(2) Corgi and the Invisible Snack Ball by Goro. This documentary is so well-done that we're tempted to try this out on Bryson. But someone pointed out that in this country such a practice would be considered a cruel and unusual punishment.
(3) The Case of a Mistaken Identity by a random British Cabbie. This is a real news clip that was broadcasted in front of millions. Apparently, this British Cabbie (identified later as Mr. Goma) was at the BBC station waiting to pick up IT journalist, Guy Kewney, who was supposed to be interviewed that day. So, when someone yelled "...Mr Guy Kewney?", the cabbie identified himself, thinking Mr. Kewney is ready to be picked up. Well, turns out the show was just getting started, and Mr. Goma, now mistakenly identified as Guy Kewney (a white, bearded guy) was ushered onto the set, clipped with a microphone, and interviewed about the Apple lawsuit that he knows nothing about. Talk about good sport.
And the Other Golden Globe goes to.... (the poll is now open for online audience voting in the Comments section)
