Hola! We made it safe and sound to wintry June Lake late last night. No accident despite of snow, whew!
As we got here after dark, we had no idea what our lodge looks like when we checked in. Imagine what a pleasant surprise it was this morning when we woke up to this from our balcony:
We snapped this photo below while taking Bryson out for this morning walk (we're in the 3rd building from the left, the balcony on the second floor is where the above photo was taken). Aren't the mountains gorgeous?
While we were totally taken in by the gorgeous view, Bryson's nose was in overdrive as he's mesmerized by the scents left by "wildlife" around here- we were told bears and coyotes frequent the area to scavenge. Bryson is leashed every second from now on so he doesn't become part of the food chain.
Oh, and if you're waiting to hear about how he did in the snow, here he is:
LOL!! Those poor short little legs!! But as awkward as he looked, he totally adored the white stuff! Despite the freezing temp, he just refused to leave and get back to the car (mind you it's in the 20's out). That double coat that's only been causing problems at home finally redeemed itself!
A couple more photos before I succumb to my falling eyelids:
P.S. We also celebrated hubby's birthday today. Happy b-day, hon!
